Keim Theatre History

Lyman Keim
Born and raised in Leola, SD. In high school, Lyman ran the projectors at the local Century Theatre in Leola. After High School he attended Aberdeen’s Northern State College. He was in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After the Army, Lyman returned to the Movie Business. He was General City Manager for Midco Theatres in Devils Lake, Aberdeen, and Bismarck. In 1983, after 20 years with Midco Theatres, Lyman opened his own theatre in Hazen ND. In 1986 he took over the Cinema Twin and Bison Twin in Jamestown, ND. June 2011 he opened the Bison 6 Cinema in Jamestown ND. In 2014 he reopened the Valley Twin Cinema in Valley City ND. Lyman is also on the board of Directors of the North Central NATO (National Assosation of Theatre Owners) Lyman and his wife Darlene have two children, Cory and Kevin, who have grown up in the movie business and have worked every job in the theatre, from janitor to concessions to doorman to projectionist.

Cory Keim
Born and raised in the theatre business, you can say Cory has the movie business in his blood. After high school, Cory attended BSC in Bismarck ND. In Bismarck he managed the Midco Theatres and Carmike Cinemas for 13 years. In 2000 he moved to Flagstaff, AZ and became the Senior Manager for Harkins Theatres at the Harkins Flagstaff 11 in Flagstaff and the Harkins Sedona 6 in Sedona. In 2002 Cory returned to Jamestown, ND to be the General Manager of the Cinema Twin and Bison Twin. As of June 2011 Cory is the General Manager of the Bison 6 Cinema in Jamestown ND. Cory wants to keep the reputation of his father: “Excellence in Movie Entertainment”. Cory has two children, Kaden and Lucas, who already have the movie business in their blood and are keeping the movie “Magic” alive.

Since 1983 Keim Theatres has built a reputation in the theatre industry and is dedicated to helping others and giving back to the community. For more than 35 years Keim Theatres has contributed to organizations such as:
